My name is Dani. Well, technically my name is Danielle Marie Kyoko. I just prefer Dani, you can probably guess I’m not a girly girl. After everything that's happened, I had to buck up and be stronger, being girly wasn’t helping me so I gave it up. I've also had heartbreak, most likely not what you’re thinking. I’ve had some strange things going on in my life as well, (keep in mind that these aren’t your typical “strange occurrences”) and I’m only eighteen. If you want to hear my story we’re going to have to start on my sixteenth birthday.
I didn’t know where I was or why I was there, all I knew was that I couldn’t stop running. I turned and looked behind me and there it was. A horrible creature, I didn’t know what it was but I knew there was no way it could be human. It had the head of a dog and the physique of an adult woman, plus it was covered in blue and white fur. I could hear it snarling and barking, I turned back around and ran faster and harder. I could hear my heart beat blasting in my ears. I felt as if my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I looked around myself at the vast wasteland that I happened to find myself in, trying to locate some sort of coverage, somewhere to hide. I saw some woods not far from where I was. I looked behind me and saw that thing gaining on me, I knew that if I wanted to live I had to keep running. That’s when I decided to look towards the woods and bolt for them as fast as I could.
I kept running until I came to a cliff. I stopped just before the edge, my step almost faltering where I would have plummeted to my inevitable death. I turned as I heard the sound of a twig snap in the distance. I looked into the woods, seeing nothing but the giant pines that surrounded me. I kept looking, not wanting to die at a young age with so much for me to do in my life. I was scared, more so than I’ve ever been. Even after I had caught my breath I could still hear my heart. Was that my fear showing itself or was it the silence of having succumbed to death? I gulped, what was I supposed to do? I had trapped myself like an idiot. I heard another branch snap, closer this time. I looked straight ahead and saw a pair of deep purple eyes. They grew closer until that creature slowly emerged. I stared at it as if staring death straight in the face. It stared right back as it kept sauntering towards me. It stopped about ten feet away before baring its teeth. It slowly crouched until it sprung back up as if pouncing... AT ME! I closed my eyes and put my arms in front of my face. Funny how when you know you're going to die you still try to save yourself, even when you know fighting will NOT help. Pretty ironic, right? It landed on top of me; it's foul breath and drool surrounding me. I could feel its head wound back until it snapped forward.
